Fitness or having a great shaped body depends on your mind-set. The way you want to live your live. However questioning every here and there, “if a keto diet will help me reduce 10 kg a week”, “is callisthenic exercise is better than bodybuilding at the gym”, “is exercising at home effective than going to gym” etc. will never help. You just have to decide whether you want to be as fit as you want; and you will do anything for it.

Because not everyone’s thought of fitness are the same. Some wants to build a body-builder alike bulk muscled body type, some wants a shredded lean muscle body or some just wants to get rid of that extra 50 pounds of their belt. Anyway, as I was saying, you have to determine if you want to obtain your fitness target by either joining a gym or workout from the comfort of your home. Now let’s dive in the river of explanation to rescue this question- “is home exercise effective?”

Effectiveness comparison between gym and home workout

Working out in the gym isn’t the only option. The same results can be achieved by exercising at home. Home workouts can be as as effective as those done in a gym, if not more so. How you use your time and resources will have a direct impact on how successful you are. Your lifestyle and fitness goals should guide your decision-making process. Working out at home has both advantages and disadvantages. Lets see them-

Money Factor

Your expenses will be much lesser if you exercise from home as you don’t have to pay the expensive gym fees. But what you can do, with that extra savings from your bill, is buy some gears and equipments for effective workout at home. Hey, I’m not saying to spend on “Marcy Smith Cage Machine with Workout Bench and Weight Bar Home Gym Equipment“. You could get a bike pedel exerciser or a treadmill that can be found under $300. Or you check out best family exercise equipment that are budget friendly.

Motivation

Its a fact that when there are people around us we usually perform better as in our subconcious mind we feel that we will be checked out or judged f0r our work. so at the gym its easy to stay motivated with other members working-out around us.

However, some may not perform at their highest effort at home, as no one is surrounding him/her by taking the same pain. So what you can do to resolve this issue is listening to favourite music while workout. Here, you better choose music that should keep boosting you or pumping you to give your best workout.

Time Maintenance

When you’re present at the gym, then you maintain a strict time schedule while workout. There you have a target to complete a set in an intended time frame. Otherwise your pump in the muscle exercises won’t build or if you’re doing cardio with lots of breaks for gossip then your fat won’t go in the process to burn.

This is why trainers at gyms checks everyone out if all are exercising correctly or wasting time somehow by being lazy. However, at home it’s very easy to get distracted by family members, coming to you asking for any help in something, which could be done later but as you’re present at home, so they don’t mind interrupting your workout time frame.

So to solve this, either you could pull them in your workouts or make them understand about the importance of workout time maintenance.

Risk of Injury

While your workout at home you could get hurt if you were trying to do a hand stand by yourself as you could fall over your neck. This can cause serious injury to you. Okay, lets see a another scenario. Imagine you are bench pressing 100 kg all by yourself with no one to help.

And suddenly you pulled a vein at your neck. This will make you drop the weight barbell instantly on you. Now you can visualize how it turned bad for you. But at gym there are always someone near you to get help; if needed.

Perfection of Exercise

At home, there is no one to show you if your exercises are going correctly. May be you are doing an exercise in a way which you think perfectly done. But actually you’re doing it all wrong. But at the gym there are people to guide you all the time.

Time saver

For home workout you are just moving from one room to a another. As a result, you are not getting stuck a traffic jam. However, getting to the gym might be sometimes a bit time consuming because of the traffic jam on the road. So, here home-workout wins!

Calisthenics vs Body-Building

Here, if your exercises are based on your own body weights like, push-ups, chin-ups, hand stand push up, squads without weights etc. then you’ll achieve lean muscle, basic core fitness in your body. As you have never made your body dependent on artificial weights or dumbbells’, so even if you take a break from exercise; it won’t damage you much.

But when a body-builder from a gym gains overweight by gaining water in his body if leaves body-building for some reason. So from super fit to gruesomely unfitness captures him. So for life time fitness I prefer own body weight workout for lifetime fitness; if you are not in a professional body-building career.

Having a Good Time

In the gym you are surrounded by friends or workout partners. For this there is always a sense of competition going on  with them. And this spikes up your workout capabilities daily. Plus you have a good time while you’re there with your workout-buddies. But at home you are all alone, listening to music, starring yourself in the mirror while working out. Now it won’t be a big deal if you are an introvert.

What’s the best way to get in shape at home?

It doesn’t have to take a long time or require heavy-duty weights to get a good exercise. To get the same results as one 30-minute workout, it’s possible to do three 10-minute sessions three times per day.

Also, there’s no need for any specialized equipment. Running or walking up and down the stairs a few times a week in a multistory apartment or home will help you gain leg strength, as well as get your heart rate up. In order to succeed, you must begin. A few suggestions:

Make sure you have enough room to work out

In your bedroom, den, patio or even on the front or back porch, this might be a place where you relax and unwind. When it comes to space, you want to be able to spread your arms wide and not worry about smacking them against anything.

Make a schedule for your exercise and stick to it

Make a schedule for your workouts and use a smartphone alarm or reminder to hold yourself accountable. Team up with a family member or a friend if you’re having a hard time staying motivated. It’s possible that using a fitness tracker app or a training app or video will help you stay motivated to work out consistently.

Warming up before and cooling off after workout is very crucial

Warming up by walking, cycling, or doing jumping jacks is a good idea. Stretching and marching in place are wonderful strategies to cool down after strenuous exercise.

Mix Up your Cardio

Take a quick jog or walk outside, dance to your favorite music, jump rope, or do aerobics to keep your heart rate up. It’s a good workout if it raises your heart rate.

Body Weight

Use your own weight to get the job done. When done correctly, bodyweight exercises can be just as effective as weightlifting in terms of increasing muscle mass. You’ll get the most out of your workouts if you keep changing them up and increase the intensity or duration over time. It’s important to remember:

  • To get the most out of your body weight exercises, you can do everything from the plank to the lunge to squat to the stair climb.
  • Add more repetitions to your body weight circuits by increasing the amount of workouts.
  • Prevent injuries by using appropriate form. Before beginning a new exercise regimen, seek the advice of a fitness expert or view a video tutorial online.

At some point in the future, you should aim for 30 minutes of activity five days a week, as advised by the CDC.

SumUp

When you have a fitness instructor by your side, going to the gym might be a lot easier. Home workouts can still be beneficial and safe if you take the proper precautions. If you have a medical condition or are recuperating from an injury, see your doctor before beginning a home fitness program.
